I didn’t write here from some time because i was very busy with my projects. Sorry for that. So let’s cut the bullshit .. from February 2009 i’m Account Manager at Webright Media.

At Webright Media i’m working on sells and on online marketing (with Bogdan) … also i’m specializing myself in Social Media Marketing.

It’s a new step in my life and a great opportunity to test my knowledge. In the past i worked as a software tester at Gameloft, Student credit card consultant at ABN-AMRO and many more… not in the last time my work as a volunteer in OSE, Asociatia Euro<26, and ANOSR.

U will find me blogging also on Webright Media’s company BLOG about Social Media Marketing and Online Marketing.

I was one of the few Romanians that watched TED PRIZE 2009 live (i guess) because it was on 5 feb from 3:00AM till 6:00AM (in USA was 5PM).

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design (ted.com). It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Today, TED is therefore best thought of as a global community formed by:

The TED Conference, held annually in Long Beach, is still the heart of TED. More than a thousand people now attend — indeed, the event sells out a year in advance — and the content has expanded to include science, business, the arts and the global issues facing our world.

TEDGlobal is a sister conference held every other year, and in a different country on each occasion.

TEDTalks began as a simple attempt to share what happens at TED with the world. Under the moniker “ideas worth spreading,” talks were released online. From the video’s (talks) i recommend you to watch: Patrick Awuah on “Educating leaders“, David S. Rose on “10 things to know before you pitch a VC for money“, David Carson on “Design, discovery and humor“, Tony Robbins on “Why we do what we do“, Keith Barry on “brain magic” and many more…

And the one that i want to talk about, The TED Prize is designed to leverage the TED Community’s exceptional array of talent and resources. It is awarded annually to three exceptional individuals who each receive $100,000 and, much more important, the granting of “One Wish to Change the World.” After several months of preparation, they unveil their wish at an award ceremony held during the TED Conference. These wishes have led to collaborative initiatives with far-reaching impact.

The videos from TED.com  are amazing, grate people and grate ideas .. make u talk about them with your friends, post them on your blog, and even try to make similar conferences in your society.

So… I watched TED PRIZE 2009 live.. and i was disappointed. My problems are:

I. The wish of Jill Tarter – “I wish that you would empower Earthlings everywhere to become active participants in the ultimate search for cosmic company.”  aaaaaaaaaa whaaaaaaat? so we really don’t have something else better? Who toked the decision of putting this wish the first from 2009?- last year(2008) we had Dave Eggers’ Wish about education, Karen Armstrong’s Wish about Religion and Neil Turok’s Wish about a Nobel prize from Africa … wonderful wishes .. the other two from this year are Sylvia Earle’s Wish about “Marine protected areas in oceans” an José Abreu’s Wish about “gifted young musicians” … also grate wishes… why searching for life in space?? I understand that from long time ago Americans are fascinated about UFO … etc… but from this to invest time, money (100.000$ was the prize and TED will invest another 1 mil $ in these 3 wishes) and a lot of human resources … WHY?

II. Video Transmission – i had no problem with receiving.. but the transmission from TED(location in Long Beach) to server was interrupted many times… also… the transmission from Venezuela when José Abreu (3th Wish) talked was devastating … minutes of a high sound and a background from communist era. Even at football game we have better transmission :D.

III. How can be possible when u have in conferences very good speakers to have a Chris Anderson (TED Curator) that doesn’t know to manage an audience .. the audience was supposed to tell how they can help and how they want to involve in achieving the wishes … Chris was in plus on the stage..  All the time he was “out of time” hurrying the speakers and the audience .. he even forgot .. to show/award the TED PRIZE (a superb globe statue) to Sylvia Earle.. he just send it off the stage back in public :)) .. He had only 3 important people .. the winners ..

Maybe i had to many expectations from TED people…

In the end i invite u to watch Richard St. John: Secrets of success in 8 words, 3 minutes ….

Later: it passed more than 5 days and people from TED still didn’t put any videos with Wishes from the ceremony on http://www.tedprize.org 😦

We are watching TV and reading news about Romania.. we know about economic crisis, war in Gaza, Russia stopped gas.. BUT how many of you know that this year(2009) is the year of Creativity and Innovation ???

IMAGINE. CREATE. INNOVATE is the motto of this year and more information you will find here.

How many of you know that Vilnius and Linz are the Cultural capital of Europe this year??

More infromation about Cultural capitals of Europe in 2009 on websites:

Linz 2009: http://www.linz09. at/en/index. html

Vilnius 2009: http://www.culturel ive.lt/en/ main

And finally how many of you know that Rotterdam is the European capital of Youth in 2009??? more information here.

PS: and now i will recive comments like: “I Knew, I Knew” 🙂

Or better how the economic crisis transformed this Christmas..

The trend this year is “less gifts”. The companies no longer organizes parties for Christmas and no longer offers the 13’th salary(or bonuses). In these circumstances, we Romanians, spend as much money as last year. Making people with imagination like the journalists from Tabu to start a nice CSR campaign, on Cristina Bazavan’s Blog, selling the gifts received and raising money for Andrei.

My email is full of holidays wishes; from friends, news websites, online stores, etc. And if i look at the wishes i can say that for me the year that comes will be more than just beautiful and full of money, trips and girls..Thanks 😀

Some say that now is the perfect moment to see how many friends u have.. who’s giving u gifts  is really a close friend and who’s sending u an email or an SMS is a friend.. others are not ..:))

SO please stop spamming, stop spending money on things i don’t need and try to remember what Christmas is ..

Sharing, helping others, telling stories under the Christmas tree… If you don’t understand what i am saying, look again at Shreck – The halls

I wish you a nice Christmas evening with your family and the best things in the world for 2009…
